Garrett County Western Maryland Government Substance Use Disorder Program. The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) serves adult clients who require a more intensive and comprehensive approach to substance abuse treatment. Group, family, and individual services are offered covering topics like co-occurring, family, 12 step, relapse prevention/recovery, wellness, resiliency, and educational issues. The program requirements include a minimum of 9 hours of clinical contact per week, an attempt to be abstinent, a commitment/desire to lead a drug and alcohol free lifestyle, attendance in a 12-step program, a court order, and/or previous treatment history.

Garrett County Maryland Sheriff’s Substance Use Programs & Services. Jail Substance Abuse Program in collaboration with the Garrett County Health Department is designed to educate incarcerated individuals who have a history of drug and/or alcohol abuse. Individuals enrolled in the program meet in both a group setting and individually to receive counseling, treatment, education, and referrals. The facility also provides a grant funded Medication Opioid Use Disorder Program to individuals that qualify. All individuals who enter the facility are screened for potential substance abuse using the SBIRT Model. Individuals are given intervention and referred to treatment while incarcerated and upon release.
